Achieving better hearing is a two-way street: it requires you to make the first step to get help and an experienced health care provider to make your journey as smooth as possible.
But, to do that, you have to know that the hearing healthcare provider you’ve chosen is here for the long-haul and is able to deliver on their promises and have the protocols/plans in place to ensure that no matter what happens in the world, you remain the center focus of theirs.
The problem is, if you’ve been following the news lately, putting your trust into a small business isn’t easy, as unfortunately, so many have suffered and gone bust in the wake of the pandemic.
So, What Can You Do To Ensure You Choose Wisely?
Who to partner with for your hearing health needs requires extra consideration, and you need the confidence that they won’t be here today and gone tomorrow like so many other small businesses.
That’s why, in this article, I want to share with you some of our biggest lessons from the pandemic and the steps we have taken to ensure that we can deliver on our long-term promises to you and the hundreds of local people that trust us for all their hearing healthcare needs.

The Lessons From The Pandemic
#1 – One of the first things that we realized is that during a time of uncertainty and chaos, communication is more important than ever! In order to protect ourselves and our families, it became very clear that we had to make sure we had as much information as possible in order to make decisions – and for those who couldn’t hear clearly, this became a very difficult task.
#2 – Second, we found that people really put their trust in those places and people who they were familiar with – people needed to make connections with others during a time of isolation, and we saw that our clients, many of whom we have known for years, really depended on us for help and advice.
#3 – The third thing that we all learned was actually how GOOD people are capable of being! We saw neighbors reaching out to those who needed help with daily activities, and we saw total strangers lend a hand to those in need.
#4 – It also taught us a huge number of lessons that encouraged us to build protocols into our business to ensure that we’re prepared for whatever happens next.
If a situation similar to the pandemic happens again – or a local stay-at-home order is ever forced upon us once again (although I’m sure you join me in hoping this will never be the case!), firstly, know that Audicles Hearing Services is here for you, and we have an emergency plan that we can immediately action, which includes:
∙ A home delivery service for all supplies
∙ Remote care protocols to provide counseling and adjustments
∙ Masked curb-side appointments to be available
∙ Utilization of technology to communicate (website and voicemail).
These steps mean that we have plans in place, no matter what is thrown at us.
Looking At The Future
Over the past 77 years, Audicles Hearing Services has proudly served the San Antonio and South Texas area.
In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, we had to close our doors to clients and serve all of their needs curb-side while the client remained in their vehicle.
However, we NEVER stopped taking care of our patients, and we never will!
We have no intention of ever closing our doors again – communication is essential, and our services are essential.
While we will expand our services to include remote programming and virtual visits, we will always provide the type of service that you have come to expect and depend on.
This continued pursuit for better, and by making patient preferences a priority, our promise is to be here for you for the long haul.
If you’re considering who to partner with and want to ensure that you choose somebody that has your back, both now and forever, I sincerely hope that this article supports you in your decision.
