An Independent & Comprehensive Review of The ReSound ONE Hearing Device

Every few years, there is a technology release in the world of hearing care that feels like a huge leap forward. From everything that I was reading in the run-up to the release of the ReSound ONE, it felt like this was going to be a big step forward.

That’s why, when it was released on September 1, 2020 – we invited a small number of trusted and experienced patients to trial this new technology. We fitted them and asked them to “put it through its paces” over 14 days and share their feedback with us.

In this article, I’m going to share what we discovered, what our audiologists think about this new technology, and whether we would recommend it to you. But first, let me explain why there has been so much excitement about this new hearing technology.

How is the ReSound ONE Different?

Well, whereas nearly every hearing device for the past few decades has had the microphone behind the ear, the new ReSound ONE has the microphone within your ear canal.

What this means is that you’re able to hear frequencies that otherwise would be inaudible. This means that rather than amplifying all noises, this new technology allows you to pick out the sounds that you’re focusing on.

For example, in noisy environments like restaurants, it allows you to clearly focus on conversations and removes the background chatter or clatter of plates; or in meetings, it allows you to focus on conversations without the noise of the air-conditioning swirling in your ears. This delivers clarity that no hearing devices have previously been able to achieve.

It also comes with features such as rechargeable batteries that boast over 30 hours of battery life with a handy charger case and Bluetooth connectivity to connect your devices to your cell phone, television, or computer to stream audio or phone calls directly to your ears.

What Was Our Patients’ Feedback Following The Trial?

We had no idea what the feedback was going to be like, but knowing that our recommendation relied entirely on our trusted patients’ thoughts/experiences, we were eager to hear their feedback.

Here’s what they had to say:

Across four of our most trusted patients, they all rated the ReSound ONE as 10 out of 10 and said that they would recommend them to others.

What Do Our Audiologists Think About Them?

The next thing we needed was the opinions of our audiologists.

Having fitted many variations of technology from many different manufacturers, our audiologists have utilized technology to help tens of thousands of people to achieve better hearing.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Not only has the physical fit of the hearing aids been extremely comfortable for patients, the sounds seem to be much more distinct. Users are better able to understand speech than they have in years, and that seems to be due to the new processor as well as the new receiver, which utilizes a third microphone placed in the ear canal to mimic the way persons with typical hearing are able to hear sounds.”

Do We Recommend The ReSound ONE?

With every patient that trialed the new technology rating it 10 out of 10 and with our audiologists singing its praises, we have decided to add the ReSound ONE to our selection of hearing technology that we recommend to patients based on their unique circumstances.

The technology has majorly impressed us and it’s a huge leap forward for hearing aid wearers across the globe.
